Donna Melanson has a passion for creating beautiful things, as well as a strong desire to share that with young students. After teaching at the deCordova Museum School for many years, she now teaches exclusively at Silk & Clay Studio.
White silk is transformed into boldly colored fabric, then sewn into pouches and scarves. Screen printing offers a chance to produce repetitive designs onto other types of fabric, like linen and canvas. Free-motion stitching adds more detail, before the whimsical prints become pillows, pouches and totes.
